Spencer Erskine, popularly known as Alahni, is a versatile Ghanaian musician born and raised in Ngyiresia, a small city in the Western Region of Ghana. Growing up with his parents and grandmother, Prophetess Sarah Aidoo, Spencer’s upbringing was deeply rooted in resilience, faith, and a love for storytelling through music.
Early Life and Education
Alahni attended Essikadu Catholic Primary School before completing his senior high school education at Hawk Mount Sinai SHS in 2014. His passion for music began during his second year in high school, where he started creating songs. A pivotal moment came when he met Prince Owusu Ampadu known as Rhyims, who introduced him to an indoor studio, where he recorded his first tracks like Aha Aye Dew and Run for Your Life.
Journey into Professional Music
In 2018, Alahni launched his professional music career, signing with Brackers Entertainment in 2019. That same year, he released the hit single Ese W’ara, which earned him a nomination for Most Promising Artist at the Eastern Music Awards. His early collaborations with producers like Elorm Beat and artists such as Yaa Pono paved the way for his recognition in the Ghanaian music industry.
