JAPHET ADJETEY

When listening to Japhet Adjetey, you can expect enchanting gospel rock, praises, and worship with often inspiring lyrics. A striking example of this is in the song ‘My God,’ which shows how extravagant the creator of the universe is. This song was performed live at many bigger platforms along the length and breadth of Ghana.

Japhet Adjetey, a Ghanaian gospel singer and performer from the very trendy district of La in Accra, is similar to and has performed with Cwesi Oteng, Danny Nertey, Joe Mettle, Kofi Karikari, and Diana Hamilton. As with Diana Hamilton, he is also, on the whole, known outside Ghana specifically West and South of Africa – the world is truly missing out.

His inspiring and motivating lyrics tap into many emotions to which we can all relate. His poetic lyrics together with the use of sounds from different musical instruments such as the gospel trance add an air of unique character to his style. He is a songwriter, composer and a singer.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Japhet Ala Adjetey is popularly known as Japhet Adjetey as his stage name. He comes from La in Accra- Ghana. He is born to Mr. Charles Nii Ala Adjetey and Mrs. Josephine Yeboah Ala Adjetey. He hails from the family of formal speakers of the Parliament Peter Ala Adjetey and the Late Terry Bonchaka. He completed his secondary school at St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School and had his tertiary education at Ghana Technology University College in Bachelor of Science Information Technology.

MUSIC CAREER

He discovered his talent at age twelve. He started to join the junior choir at church. He claims he nurtured his talented all by himself. Growing and glowing the talent he served has backing vocalist for Cwesi Oteng, Danny Nertey, Joe Mettle, Kofi Karikari, and Diana Hamilton.

He also claims these people have been a great influence in his career; David Fortunatus Tagoe (Jloops), Kpabitey Kofi (Byte Music), Donald Nii Saye Gwaikolo(GwaiPro), and Pastor Isaiah Ofosu Kwakye Jnr. He is from a background of musicians.

And also by listening to William McDowell, Jason Nelson, Marvin Sapp, Deitrick Haddon, Smokie Norful, J Moss, Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Todd Dunaley, MOG, Joe Mettle, Cwesi Oteng, and Kofi Karikari, etc. He idolizes Kpabitey Kofi (Byte Music) to glow in God-given talent.
