With seductive, Afro-soul vocals and atmospheric electronic production, Nigerian, Makrooneey has always worked between bringing the party and exploring the dark lovely spaces that exist within all of us.
His most recent release, “Lagbaja,” is his most precise output yet, pairing a carefully pulsing beat with hammered afro-beat melodies that thoughtfully eliminate one’s understanding of loving another. He stressed in the “Lagbaja” songs saying he is giving up on all activities in the world to have quality time for his home as in his wife.
Makrooneey has been one of Ghana’s emerging favorites ever since he released his EP Lagbaja in 2020. Throughout its six tracks, Makrooneey proves that less can indeed be more; its moments of absence are just as important as those when his vocals take charge.
There is nothing else out there quite like Makrooney music; all we can do is wait for the next chapter. Makronneey is a songwriter and an afro-soul singer who fuses his afro rendition into electro afro-beat. He is one of the best Nigerians in Ghana to watch out for.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Kingsley Kesseh knew with the stage name Makrooneey. He hails from Lagos in the Western part of Africa, Nigeria. He is born by Mr. Living Kesseh and Mrs. Bose Kesseh. Makrooneey had his basic school at K.B.M College in Lagos, Nigeria. He later furthered to Akod College also in Lagos Nigeria. He later migrated to Ghana to pursue BSc in Information Technology at the Valley View University- Ghana.
He discovered his talent when he was fourteen years of age, ever since he discovered his passion for music, he encourages himself to go solely into music but coming from a family that held quality academic education in high esteem. It turns out to be a bigger challenge for him.
He hid behind the curtains to grow and glow his newly discovered talent. He began to listen to the likes of Dagrin, Seriki, Olamide, and mostly Kizz Daniel. Mrs. Husseini a business mogul and Mrs. Oghene, a faculty adviser in the mechanical engineering department of Yabatech Polytechnic in Nigeria inspire me to do music as a profession because my talent outweighs their thoughts.
