He performed in KIDAFEST (GHANA NATIONAL THEATER OF ART AND CULTURE) and EFUA SUTHERLAND PARK (CHILDRENS PARK). Kids show organized by Uncle George popularly known as ”KYEKYEKULE” in the year 2002.

TONKRA
Solomon Kwening Kwakye known by the stage name ”TONKRA”. Tonkra in Akan literally means ”Message Sender”. He is a hip-hop, hip-life artist, songwriter, and composer from Ghana. Tonkra is acclaimed for making Twi Rap prominent in the Nungua suburbs back in the year 2000.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Tonkra was born in Nungua (Ghana) to Mr. Isaac Kwakye  and Rita Yaa Boatemaa. Tonkra is the second of four kids. He had his basic education at Nungua A.M.A basic school and furthered to Tema Manhean Senior High/Technical School in Tema. Tonkra couldn’t make it to the University so he resorted to putting his musical talent into productivity.

MUSIC CAREER

However, at age seven, he started writing his own songs. As a kid had the opportunity to mount on bigger platforms.

Tonkra started professional music back in 2016. His first hit single’ ‘HEAVYWEIGHT” made an impact in the Nungua municipality. He is known for a few hit singles as well. He sings and rap in pidgin and local dialects like Ga and Twi. He advises the ghetto to hustle hard to accomplish their goals through his music. He also preaches love, money, and saying no to social vices in his hip-hop and drill music.
